new parents with babies up to 2 years
old. It's offered through the Kentucky
Department for Public Health.
Specially trained staff visit enrolled
families at home to provide support
and answer questions about
pregnancy, child development,
and parenting skills.
HANDS offers educational materials and
resources on various topics related to
child development and newborn care.
The program helps families connect with other
helpful programs and services in their community.
Overall, the HANDS program empowers new
parents by providing them with knowledge,
support, and a sense of community during
this crucial stage in their child's life.
Clinical preventive health services include medical, nursing, nutrition, social education and environmental interventions designed to assist individuals and communities in obtaining and maintaining an optimal level of wellness.
Yes. Also, most services are provided for a nominal fee, but some services are based on income and number in the household. No person is turned away for their inability to pay.
